The pre-release event of Akhil Akkineni’s upcoming action drama Lenin turned into a memorable affair after King Nagarjuna delivered an emotional and confidence-filled speech that has now gone viral on social media.

Speaking at the grand event held in Tirupati, Nagarjuna revealed that he was deeply impressed when director Murali Kishor Abburu (Nandu) first narrated the story of Lenin. He shared that the film is set in a village called Sriramapuram, adding an emotional touch by recalling that his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, was also born in a village with the same name, though it was a different Sriramapuram in Chittoor district.

Nagarjuna praised the screenplay, saying every character has multiple shades and that the second half contains several unexpected twists that audiences will never see coming. According to him, the emotional strength of the story is one of the film’s biggest highlights.

Explaining the core theme, Nagarjuna said history has witnessed kingdoms falling and wars being fought for love, and Lenin also revolves around a powerful love story that eventually leads to an intense conflict. He described Bhagyashri Borse’s character Bharati as the heartbeat of the film, adding that the story is deeply rooted in the emotions and culture of Rayalaseema, calling it “a Mahabharata unfolding in Rayalaseema.”

The veteran actor also made a surprising confession. He admitted that he was initially worried when Akhil chose the project because the young actor had previously appeared mostly in urban-based films. Nagarjuna wondered whether Akhil could convincingly fit into a rugged Rayalaseema backdrop.

However, all his doubts disappeared after watching the film.

In what became the biggest highlight of his speech, Nagarjuna said, “You won’t see Akhil Akkineni on screen. You will only see Lenin.” He praised his son for completely transforming into the character and expressed confidence that audiences would connect with Lenin’s emotions, anger, and love, eventually carrying the character in their hearts after leaving the theatre.

Nagarjuna also appreciated the performances of Shivaji, Brahmaji, and Sunil, saying they worked with great passion for the film. He credited Thaman’s music, Naveen’s editing, and Britto’s cinematography for taking the film to the next level.

He further praised producer Naga Vamsi, saying he understands the pulse of mass audiences and has shown immense confidence by distributing the film across Andhra Pradesh himself.

Ending his speech on an emotional note, Nagarjuna recalled a saying of his father, who believed that audiences are the true gods of cinema. Addressing the crowd, he declared that Lenin is arriving in theatres on July 10 and confidently predicted that the film would become the biggest hit of Akhil Akkineni’s career.
