Ravi Teja Changes His Deal After Irumudi Hit, Dil Raju Project Takes A Hit

Ravi Teja has reportedly made a major change to his remuneration structure following the unexpected success of Irumudi. The actor, who was going through a relatively low phase before the film’s release, is now said to be demanding a significantly higher package for his upcoming projects. This change is reportedly the key reason behind his decision to walk out of a film backed by producer Dil Raju and directed by Hasith Goli.

Before Irumudi, Ravi Teja’s market was considered to be in a challenging phase. Mythri Movie Makers reportedly planned the film on a controlled budget and structured the actor’s Rs 15 crore remuneration accordingly. He was said to have received Rs 8 crore as an upfront payment, while the remaining Rs 7 crore was adjusted against the Nizam theatrical rights.

Interestingly, Ravi Teja reportedly tried to sell the Nizam rights for around Rs 8 crore before the film’s release. However, distributors were reportedly not willing to acquire the rights at that price. As a result, the film was released without a separate Nizam rights deal, with Mythri Movie Makers taking a commission from the theatrical business.

The theatrical performance of Irumudi changed the equation completely. The film reportedly emerged as a major success for Ravi Teja, with the Nizam region alone said to have generated nearly Rs 50 crore in collections. The strong performance gave the actor’s market a considerable boost and once again increased expectations around his remuneration.

Following the success, Ravi Teja is reportedly seeking Rs 20 crore as his upfront remuneration for upcoming projects, while also expecting the Nizam rights to be included in his overall package. However, the revised deal structure reportedly created differences over a project he had already committed to.

Ravi Teja had reportedly signed producer Dil Raju and director Hasith Goli’s film before Irumudi, when his agreed package was around Rs 15 crore. After the success of Irumudi, the actor is said to have sought revised terms. However, producer Laxman reportedly came forward with a deal offering Rs 20 crore upfront along with the Nizam rights.

According to reports, Ravi Teja chose to proceed with the new project and subsequently walked out of the Hasith Goli-directed film. The new project is expected to be directed by Vivek Athreya and produced by Laxman.

The development has now become a talking point in Tollywood, as Ravi Teja’s remuneration and business expectations appear to have changed significantly following Irumudi. Whether this new market positioning continues with his upcoming films remains to be seen.

According to reports, Nandana and her husband Madhukar have been accused of allegedly collecting large sums of money from several individuals by promising to arrange job opportunities in the UK. It is alleged that the couple received amounts ranging between ₹15 lakh and ₹20 lakh from each person, but later failed to fulfil the promises made to them.

The alleged visa consultancy scam gained significant attention on social media and television after several victims reportedly came forward with bank transaction statements and raised serious allegations against the couple.

The controversy intensified in June following a major social media campaign targeting the couple. After remaining silent for several days, Nandana and her husband reportedly issued a statement warning of strict action against those allegedly spreading misinformation about them. However, their response did not put an end to the controversy, as allegations and complaints continued to surface.

With multiple complaints and police cases reportedly registered in Krishna district, lookout notices were issued in connection with the investigation. Following her detention at Hyderabad airport, Nandana is expected to be handed over to Ibrahimpatnam police for further questioning regarding the allegations.

Meanwhile, Rama Nandana had earlier grabbed considerable attention after appearing alongside Megastar Chiranjeevi in Mana Shankar Varaprasad, which brought her further recognition among Telugu audiences.

Rashmika Takes the Top Spot, Deepika Settles for No. 2!

The ranking also throws up another interesting surprise, with Sai Pallavi placed ahead of Alia Bhatt.

According to the magazine’s list, the top five female stars in Indian cinema are:

The ranking has naturally sparked discussion, particularly because Deepika has traditionally been regarded as one of India’s biggest female stars. Interestingly, remuneration tells a different story. Deepika reportedly commands a fee that is around 2.5 times higher than Rashmika’s for a film. Rashmika, however, appears to have a strong advantage in the brand space, with a larger portfolio of commercial endorsements.

A similar contrast can be seen between Sai Pallavi and Alia Bhatt. While Alia reportedly commands nearly twice Sai Pallavi’s remuneration per film and has several major brand associations, Sai Pallavi has generally maintained a more selective approach towards endorsements.

Therefore, while India Today’s ranking places Rashmika ahead of Deepika in terms of overall star power, it should be viewed as one publication’s assessment rather than an absolute measure of who is the biggest female star in India.

On the work front, Deepika Padukone is currently shooting for Raaka, starring Allu Arjun. She has also completed King, headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, which is scheduled to release in December 2026.

Veligonda Project Politics: Jagan Claims Credit as Chandrababu Gets Ready for Big Launch

Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a fresh political battle over credit as the first phase of the historic Veligonda Project is set to be inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday. While the coalition government is presenting the project as a major irrigation milestone, former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has claimed that the credit for its completion largely belongs to his father, the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, and his YSR Congress Party government.

Jagan Claims Credit for Veligonda Project

Jagan took to X with a detailed post highlighting the history of the Veligonda project and seeking to attribute much of its progress to successive YSR-led governments.

He pointed out that the project was originally conceived decades ago and alleged that despite the foundation stone being laid during Chandrababu Naidu’s earlier tenure in 1996, significant progress remained limited for several years.

According to Jagan, the Jala Yagnam initiative launched during YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure played a crucial role in developing the project’s core infrastructure, including dams, canals and the twin underground tunnels.

Jagan Highlights Final Tunnel Work

Jagan also claimed credit for his own government, stating that it undertook one of the most challenging remaining components of the project the excavation of the final 10.5 kilometres of the twin tunnels.

He argued that these works were crucial to bringing the long-pending project closer to completion and questioned the coalition government’s claims surrounding the project.

R&R Issue Becomes Another Flashpoint

The former Chief Minister also criticised the Chandrababu Naidu-led government over the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) process.

Jagan alleged that the government had failed to adequately address the concerns of displaced villagers for more than two years, leaving some families waiting for compensation. He accused the ruling alliance of focusing on publicity while seeking credit for a project developed over multiple governments.

Chandrababu Government Pushes Project Towards Finish Line

The ruling coalition, however, maintains that its government played a critical role in removing the remaining hurdles and taking the Veligonda project towards completion.

In recent months, the government has reportedly invested more than ₹2,400 crore on essential works, including feeder canals, head regulators and canal lining.

The administration has also focused on clearing long-pending R&R packages, with compensation being disbursed to displaced families. The government has positioned these measures as essential steps to enable the reservoir to be filled while addressing the concerns of affected communities.

Veligonda Project Turns Into Political Credit Battle

The Veligonda Project is now more than an irrigation milestone it has become another major political credit battle between the TDP-led coalition and YSRCP.

With Chandrababu Naidu set to inaugurate the first phase, the coalition government is highlighting the expenditure and final-stage works completed under its tenure, while Jagan is stressing the contributions of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his own administration.

The project is expected to provide drinking water to fluoride-affected villages and support irrigation across thousands of acres in the drought-prone regions of Prakasam, Markapuram, Nellore and Kadapa, making its completion politically and economically significant for Andhra Pradesh.
