Young director Saailu Kampati, who impressed audiences with his debut blockbuster Raju Weds Rambai, is all set to begin work on his second feature film. The filmmaker earned praise for presenting Telangana’s culture and emotions with authenticity in his first outing, and expectations are already high for his next project.
According to the latest buzz in Tollywood, Saailu Kampati has locked an entirely fresh story and is currently busy with pre-production. If reports are to be believed, Mem Famous actor and filmmaker Sumanth Prabhas is likely to play the lead role in this exciting venture.
Adding to the curiosity is the film’s reported title. Industry sources suggest that the makers are considering Babloo XXL as the title. While there has been no official confirmation yet, the unique and quirky name has already sparked discussions among movie buffs. Insiders say the title perfectly complements the film’s theme and could be finalized soon.
Interestingly, this collaboration has an unexpected backstory. Saailu Kampati had reportedly narrated the story of Raju Weds Rambai to Sumanth Prabhas before making the film. However, the actor is said to have declined the project at the time, as he had recently appeared in Mem Famous, another film rooted in Telangana, and didn’t want to repeat a similar backdrop immediately.
This time, things seem to have changed. Saailu Kampati reportedly approached Sumanth with a completely new script, and the actor was instantly impressed by the fresh concept. Sources say he has given his approval, making him the strongest contender to headline the project.
Although the upcoming film is once again expected to be set in Telangana, it is said to feature a refreshing love story with brand-new characters, stronger emotional depth, and a distinct narrative that sets it apart from the director’s debut.
The project is reportedly being jointly produced by leading Tollywood producers Asian Suniel, Pushkur Ram Mohan Rao, and Bharath Narang under the SVCLLP banner. With the script work said to be complete and pre-production moving at a rapid pace, the makers are expected to make an official announcement soon regarding the title, cast, and production details.
