Diwali Bomb “Japan,”: Explosion In The Wrong Direction

The much-anticipated ‘Japan’ film is set to hit theaters on November 10, 2023, The stellar cast includes Karthi, Anu Emmanuel, Jithan Ramesh, K. S. Ravikumar, Sunil, Vijay Milton, Vagai Chandrasekhar, and Bava Chelladurai, promising a captivating ensemble performance. The directorial helm is in the hands of Raju Murugan, while the production is undertaken by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu. Adding to the cinematic experience, the music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, and the cinematography is masterfully handled by S Ravi Varman.

Plot:

The story unfolds in Hyderabad, where a prominent jewelry store experiences a staggering loss of Rs. 200 crores in a gold heist, leading the police to suspect the notorious thief, Japan (Karthi). Urged by the Home Minister (KS Ravi Kumar) for a swift resolution, the movie delves into the mystery, unveiling the true culprit and exposing Japan’s subsequent actions.

Performances:

Karthi shines in his portrayal of the infamous thief, delivering a well-crafted character with wit and a perpetually cool demeanor. His humorous dialogues bring levity even to serious situations. Noted cinematographer and director Vijay Milton contribute commendably, especially with well-timed comedy at the film’s outset, eliciting laughter. Sunil’s performance is adequate, and GV Prakash Kumar’s music complements the movie effectively.

Despite a promising start, the film falters due to a lackluster story and weak screenplay. Writer-director Raju Murugan falls short of transforming “Japan” into an engaging cat-and-mouse game. An improved screenplay could have enhanced the overall pace. Anu Emmanuel’s role adds minimal value, with limited screen time that lacks appeal even in scenes with Karthi.

The film suffers from a dearth of a compelling narrative and robust characters, leaving KS Ravi Kumar underutilized. While action sequences are abundant, their composition could have been more entertaining for a broader audience.

Technicalities:

On the technical front, director Raju Murugan struggles to harness Karthi’s acting prowess, falling short as both director and writer. The VFX is average, but the dubbed version gives the feeling of watching a straight Telugu movie.

Tharun Bhascker’s Mangalavaram Dance For ‘Appadappada Thaandra’ Song

After the intriguing ‘RX 100’ and the focused ‘Maha Samudram’, super-talented director Ajay Bhupathi is all set to make us awestruck with ‘Mangalavaaram’. Swathi Reddy Gunupati and Suresh Varma of Mudhra Media Works and Bhupathi’s A Creative Works have produced this November 17th release. Its trailer was released recently. Young director Tharun Bhascker features in the movie’s special song. Titled ‘Appadappada Thaandra.. Aavakaya Thaandra’, the song is written by Ganesh A and sung by Rahul Sipliganj. Its lyrical video was released today.

Ajaneesh Loknath’s tuning and Tharun’s massy get-up are the key highlights of the fun-filled song. The song, at the conceptual level, is about gossiping and people doing idle talk in villages. Director Ajay Bhupathi brings those little stories to the audience in the form of this song. Those who grew up in our rural areas are well aware of the game whose name is this song’s title.

Director Ajay Bhupathi said, “Tharun Bhascker’s performance in this song is something special. His mass get-up and dancing in a lungi are wow. This song was shot in a village in Konaseema. We shot it in different locations to reflect the rural atmosphere on screen. Our music director has done a great job. This song comes in a good context in the movie. The song will reveal the conversations between the people of the village and the situation in the village on the screen. ‘Mangalavaaram’ is a different action thriller. A film of this sort has never been made on the Indian screen.”

Producers Swathi Reddy and Suresh Varma expressed their delight over the film’s trailer and the previously unveiled songs becoming a hit. They hope that the latest song will also be a chartbuster.

Viewers Connected To Characters-‘Sarvam Sakthi Mayam’- Director Pradeep Maddali

Pradeep Maddali who made his directorial debut with Sathya Dev headlined thriller ’47 Days’ has directed a web series ‘Sarvam Sakthi Mayam’ which is streaming now in Telugu and Tamil languages on aHa while it’s Hindi version is streaming on ZEE 5. BVS Ravi is the creator of the show along with providing the story and Pradeep Maddali has directed it. The 10 episode series which is currently streaming on aHa explores about Shakti Peethas and significance of Hinduism. ‘Sarvam Sakthi Mayam’ which started streaming from Dussehra has received tremendous response in OTT space. On this occasion Director Pradeep Maddali has shared his happiness and experiences about the series.

Didn’t you feel risk while taking up a huge span project like ‘Sarvam Sakthi Mayam’ as your second project? How did you handle it?

It is a great responsibility handling such kind of subject. I know BVS Ravi Garu very well. We used to meet to discuss various subjects. BVS Ravi Garu is the creator and writer of ‘Sarvam Sakthi Mayam’. When he narrated this idea, I liked it instantly. I felt that this is a great opportunity and agreed to do it.

To do such kind of spiritual subject, one must be on that path. How spiritual you are?

Once I started my own trials to become a director I needed to go to my roots. Then I took a spiritual path. I practiced meditation, Kriya Yoga, and Suddha Yoga and observed the energy behind them. Along with our efforts, we need power, and energy beside us to accomplish a task. While I was in this phase, I got an offer from Ravi Garu. This change in me might be the reason behind Ravi sir decision to opt for me as the director of this project.

It is very hard to execute such subjects. How did you handle it?

Luckily we have actors with amazing talent, Priyamani Garu, Sanjay Suri Garu, Sameer Soni Garu, and Aslesha Thakur, everyone is an amazing actor. My work became easy handling such mature actors.

While handling projects with spiritual aspects, some times miracles happen while making. Any such incidents?

We planned the first schedule during peak summer. We made a schedule of 18-20 days starting from Orissa to Kashmir. It went very smoothly without any obstacles. The entire film was completed without any kind of issues. I feel it’s a miracle. We must appreciate our producers Vijay Garu, Ankith Garu, and Kaumudi Garu for their relentless support. This is not an OTT-commissioned project. We executed it as an independent project and after completion, we approached OTT’s. This is a big miracle.

Most of the cast has Hindi actors. Why did you opt for Bollywood actors?

We made this as a Hindi project to get it a wide reach. That’s why we went for a Bollywood casting. We balanced it with Priyamani Garu. Her choice is also according to the story.

These Sakthi Peethas are said to be the places where Ammavaari body parts fell off. Is there any proofs for this in Vedas and mythology?

We told the story about Ammavari Sakthi Peethalu. While Daksha Yagnam was being performed, Sathi Devi’s father didn’t invite Lord Shiva. Knowing this angry Sati Devi offered herself to fire. Then to cool down lord Shiva, lord Sree Mahavishnu severed her body parts with his sudarshana chakra and wherever her body parts fell down, those places became Shakti Peethas. Writer Thota Prasad garu told me that Ashtadasa Sakthi Peethas are most powerful places. Along with her body parts, her blood flowed on this land which made this land a powerful and great place. That is why our Bharat is considered as pristine land.

How is the response for Telugu, Tamil versions in aHa and Hindi version in ZEE5?

Hindi version was released on ZEE 5 in June. It garnered Terrific response. It got released in Telugu and Tamil versions on aHa on 20th October. I am getting messages of appreciation from all over the country. I am very happy to see such a positive and warm response from the viewers. As this is not a regular crime, thriller series, it will take time to grow more on audience. Everyone will talk about this more and more in the upcoming days. Thanks to the audience for their amazing response.

I am doing my next in Ram Talluri’s SRT Entertainment banner. It will be a prestigious web series. Details will be announced very soon.

Samantha surprises fans Marvellously in anticipation of ‘The Marvels’

With less than 10 days left for The Marvels releasing in India, the anticipation soars high to witness Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau in action. While in 2019, Captain Marvel enjoyed a successful theatrical run, the fabulous four actresses Samantha, Tamannaah, Rakul Preet and Kajal Aggarwal had unveiled the trailer for the pre-endgame superhero flick starring Brie Larson. Now, India’s beloved actress Samantha hinted at an association with Marvel Studios in one of her latest social media post which is sparking rounds of conversations around her return to promote The Marvels.

Samantha took to her social media, by posting a story along with a special visitor to her Gym, a tiny, furry friend – a grey cat with whom the actress is seen playing in the video as a part of her post-workout session. Her caption read “Excited for tomorrow and so is my Goose”, with a sticker of Captain Marvel flying away with her Flerken ally ‘Goose’, which has led to her fans all excited about what exactly will she do this time?

Earlier in 2019, Samantha had expressed how she feels motivated by Brie Larson’s workout routine, she said “Workout is not about how it makes me look but how it makes me feel. I have always been fond of keeping targets, whether it is in work or personal life. In the case of weight training we increase it week-on-week and I like knocking off these new targets as well; Right now my target is to lift 120kg” expressing her desire to train like ‘Captain Marvel’ to achieve some of the most challenging milestones in her life.

“Okka Sari Preminchaka” movie is coming to the audience on November 3 under the banner of Srikanth Arolla and produced by Changala Kumar Yadav starring Bhaskar Yadav (Bunny) and Lakshmi as heroines. The ticket launch event of this movie was held in NBT Nagar, Hyderabad. Mayor of Hyderabad Mrs. Gadwala Vijayalakshmi participated in this program as the chief guest… Our Hyderabad boy, especially our NBT Nagar boy Bunny Yadav is introduced as the hero of the movie “Okkakari Amrutaka” by our Hyderabad residents, especially NBT Nagar. Residents are requested to see and encourage Bunny at least once. This movie is getting a massive release in both Telugu states on November 3rd by MGM (Minimum Guarantee) Movies!!

AshokGalla2 Coming in a Violent Avatar

Superstar Krishna’s grandson Ashok Galla, who made his grand debut with ‘Hero’ and nephew of superstar Mahesh Babu, is making his second film under the direction of Arjun Jandhyala of ‘Guna 369’ fame. #AshokGalla2 is written by creative director Prashant Varma. NRI (Film Distributor) Somineni Balakrishna is producing this film as production number 1 of Lalithambika Productions. Nallapaneni Yami is being presented by K Sagar as co-producer. The promotional content of this already released movie has received a good response.

Today the makers have released the first look of Devadatta Nage of Adipurush fame who is playing the villain in the film. Devadatta will be seen in the powerful role of Kansaraju in this film. In the first look, he looked very violent holding a knife.

In this film, Miss India 2020 Manasa Varanasi is playing the heroine along with Ashok Galla. Top technicians are working for this movie. Composer Bheems Cicerolio, who gave the blockbuster music for Dhamaka, is composing the music, while Prasad Moorella is the cinematographer and Tammiraju is the editor. Burra Saimadhav is providing the dialogues.
