Sundeep Kishan Enters A Magical World: ‘Karikaala’ Locks Two-Part Release

Sundeep Kishan is all set to step into an entirely new cinematic space with his upcoming fantasy-adventure film Karikaala – A Magical World. After impressing audiences with Super Subbu and with Sigma awaiting release, the actor is now taking on one of the most ambitious projects of his career.

The makers officially announced the film along with stunning first-look posters that introduce Sundeep Kishan in the powerful role of Karikaala. Sporting a fierce look against the backdrop of a magical fantasy world, the posters promise a visually grand adventure unlike anything the actor has attempted before.

Directed by Ugandhar Muni and produced by Bhavani and Mahidhar Reddy under the Shining Pictures banner, Karikaala – A Magical World is planned as a two-part cinematic saga.

The release dates have also been locked. Part 1 will hit theatres on July 2, 2027, while Part 2 is scheduled to arrive on October 28, 2027. The film will be released simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, aiming for a wide pan-India audience.

The technical team features Sricharan Pakala as the music composer, Ramcharan Tej Labani as the production designer, Praveen K. Bangari handling cinematography, Rajkumar choreographing the action sequences, and Ayesha Mariam designing the costumes. Thaman Gives KOKA A Blockbuster Certificate Before Release

As the release of Mega Prince Varun Tej’s upcoming entertainer Korean Kanakaraju (KOKA) draws closer, the makers held a grand pre-release event in Bhimavaram, where the excitement among fans reached fever pitch. The event turned into a celebration with the cast and crew sharing their confidence about the film.

Music director S. Thaman made a bold statement that instantly grabbed attention. Addressing the crowd, he recalled his memorable association with Bhimavaram during the Tholi Prema promotions and thanked Varun Tej for trusting him with that film. Calling Korean Kanakaraju a unique entertainer, Thaman praised director Merlapaka Gandhi for his distinctive storytelling style, saying the film balances humour and emotions in a refreshing way. He also appreciated the producers for backing the project wholeheartedly and wished actress Ritika Nayak more success. Most importantly, Thaman revealed that he had already watched the film and confidently declared that KOKA will be a “sure shot blockbuster.”

Varun Tej, who returned to the same venue after nearly eight years since the Tholi Prema pre-release event, said it felt special to be back in Bhimavaram. He expressed gratitude to the producers for their unwavering support and lauded director Merlapaka Gandhi for presenting him in a completely new avatar. The actor also showered praise on Thaman, stating that the composer never compromises on quality and that his background score has significantly elevated the film. Varun described this as another memorable collaboration with Thaman.

Speaking about his co-stars, Varun appreciated Ritika Nayak for her performance and wished her continued success. He also revealed that bringing comedian Satya on board was challenging due to his packed schedule but believed he was the perfect choice for the role. Concluding his speech, Varun reflected on his family’s successful run over the past year and said that after seeing Ram Charan win hearts with Peddi, he hopes Korean Kanakaraju will continue that success story when it hits theatres.

Bikshu Yadav No More: Tollywood’s Iconic Villain Pradeep Rawat Passes Away at 74

Veteran actor Pradeep Rawat, who carved a special place in the hearts of Telugu audiences with his unforgettable portrayal of Bikshu Yadav in Sye, passed away on Wednesday evening following a cardiac arrest in Mumbai. He was 74.

Born on January 21, 1952, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Pradeep Rawat enjoyed a remarkable acting career spanning several decades across Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil cinema. Known for his towering screen presence and intense performances, he became one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated on-screen villains.

Before making his mark in films, Rawat gained nationwide recognition by portraying Ashwatthama in B.R. Chopra’s iconic television series Mahabharat. He later made his Hindi film debut with Baaghi before entering Telugu cinema with Sye.

It was S.S. Rajamouli’s Sye that transformed Pradeep Rawat into a household name in Telugu cinema. His menacing performance as Bikshu Yadav won widespread acclaim and earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Villain, making the character one of the most iconic antagonists in Tollywood history.

Following the success of Sye, Rawat became one of the most sought-after villains in Telugu films. He delivered memorable performances in blockbuster movies including Chatrapathi, Stalin, Desamuduru, Rajanna, Poola Rangadu, Baadshah, Nayak, 1: Nenokkadine, Sarainodu, Veera, Alludu Seenu, Lion, Ragada, Baladur, Soukhyam, and Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu.

Apart from Telugu cinema, Rawat also impressed audiences with memorable roles in Hindi films such as Sarfarosh, Lagaan, Ghajini, and several other successful projects. His ability to portray powerful, intimidating, and emotionally layered antagonists made him a respected actor across multiple film industries.

His final Telugu appearance came in Gayapadda Simham, marking the end of a career filled with unforgettable performances.

Pradeep Rawat’s demise is a huge loss to Indian cinema. Though he is no longer with us, his iconic characters especially Bikshu Yadav will continue to live on in the memories of movie lovers for generations.
