The denial of permission for Jana Sena’s proposed Telangana Nava Nirmana Sankalpa Sabha has sparked fresh political controversy in the state. After both the police and the High Court refused permission for the event, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan reacted strongly, accusing authorities of trying to suppress democratic rights.

Addressing the media, Pawan Kalyan questioned those attempting to prevent his entry into Telangana. “Telangana Mee Ayya Jaageera?” he asked, expressing anger over efforts to stop him from conducting political meetings in the state.

Pawan asserted that his association with Telangana goes back decades and is not a recent development. He recalled travelling extensively across the region long before many of his current critics entered public life. He also highlighted his visits to remote and Naxal-affected areas, including Adilabad, to emphasize his long-standing connection with the region.

Clarifying his position on Telangana, the Jana Sena leader stated that neither he nor his party is opposed to the state. He explained that his objections were only to the manner in which Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated, alleging that the process was pushed through by closing Parliament doors and bypassing proper democratic procedures.

Pawan Kalyan further said that Jana Sena believes in building a socially inclusive Telangana where all communities can prosper together. He noted that the people of Telangana had supported him during difficult phases of his political journey and said there was no need for him to prove his respect and affection for Telangana, its culture, and its people.

With the controversy over the denied permission continuing to escalate, Pawan Kalyan’s remarks are likely to intensify the political debate in Telangana in the coming days.
